www.theironbowlisbetter.com

Once again I have to remind myself that creativity is not my thing. Two of my long-time friends Josh McFall and Brett Trapp just launched this website and have a world-changing vision that Bill Gates would be jealous of. If I could take a fourth of their creativity and use it for me then I would do well. The idea is simple, and simple is almost always better. To raise $56,000 dollars to build a school in Angola Africa. Using the religious-like dogma of the Iron Bowl to raise this money is an incredible idea.

On a side note, I got tired driving on my way to Mobile today for drill and decided to crawl in the back of my Chevy Avalanche and take a nap. Imagine working at the outlet mall in Bessemer and looking in the parking lot to see a truck with two legs sticking out the back of it. thinking of it now makes me laugh. Anyway, as I lay there resting a bit a cop walks up to check on me. I can here the phone call now.

Officer: Hello
Worker: Yes, officer there is a Chevy Avalanche in the parking lot with two legs sticking out of the back and we think someone should check it out.
Officer: Come again?
Worker: Yea something could really be wrong here.
Officer: On my way

Officer walking slowly over to Avalanche

Officer: knock knock knock
Me: Startled back to the real world, yes officer?
Officer: Are you ok?
Me: Yea, just resting a bit. Didn't want to be too tired driving.
Officer: Ok, just had a call and thought I would check on you.
Me: Thanks, have a good one

I don't know about you guys, but looking back on it, thats hilarious.

Motto for the day.
Do weird things.

Chrysler Sebrina for sale

Welcome one and all...ok well about 3 of you maybe haha. So I was browsing the pages of my hometown newspaper today and I came across something I had to share.

P.S. If anybody from the North were to read this, it would put Alabama back another 10-20 years in cultural and educational development.

So as I lazily flip through the classified ads I notice one ad in particular.

2006 Chrysler Sebrina
$6,000 OBO

Can you imagine my dismay over this. We, educated citizens, here in the South fight an uphill battle with the rest of America to convince them that not every "southerner" is a redneck moron. This isn't a new stigma, nor one that will be easily forgotten.

If you are from the South and happen to read this article and are unaware of this nationwide stereotype then I apologize. If you want to know how the rest of America views us just watch My Name is Earl on TBS and that's about it. haha

But seriously, a Chrysler Sebrina. Wasn't she a teenage witch or something?

If you read this blog and are still trying to figure out what a Chrysler Sebrina is and/or why it's funny, just let me know and I will politely fill you in.

P.S.S. Still working out how to make this better, and starting from the bottom makes it all the more easy to go up. So there are good things to look forward to here on this blog. Goodnight.

If my daughter was taken

I just watched the movie Taken with Liam Neeson. I have always felt that certain movies ignite a fire in me more than most. It could be that I don't ask others how movies affect them or perhaps it's that I don't care how movies affect others. Either way, movies like Taken, along with many others, light a fire in the deepest part of me to bring justice to those who deserve it.

I get overly excited in exciting movies, I get overly emotional in emotional movies, and I get bored in drama movies. Movies like Transformers I and II make me sit on the edge of my seat, yell, grunt, and make fighting noises whereas my friends are trying to figure out why they are here. Movies like Simon Burch make me quit worrying about stupid stuff, and a movie like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter makes me want to live in a fantasy world.

Being that I proudly serve this great nation, movies that involve military of any kind resonate with my world a thousand times over. Inexplicable are the things a private in any Army of any nation goes through. When they spit him out of basic training he is stronger, smarter, and tougher. He will do whatever his superiors tell him and he will do the best job you could ask for. If you see a young man who serves, thank him.

Back to movies. See I told you I would ramble about things as they pop up, but I did warn you. So I guess the real reason for me posting this blog is to ask what lengths you would go to if your son or daughter were Taken?

My Auburn Tigers

Since I don't deploy until May I thought my first post should be about my Auburn Tigers.

I have always loved the Auburn Tigers. They are always there, always trying, always changing. Living in Alabama means a couple of things. Football is life, and big trucks are the norm in this great state. Auburn fans are the minority and probably always have been. Auburn is my comfort food. They always keep it interesting.

It is week 5 of the college football season, and Auburn appears to be climbing up the ladder with a seemingly unstoppable offense. Sure we weren't playing some of the best defenses in the country but we were still chewing them up and spitting them out with multiple "big" plays and a solid running game. Auburn fans had already begun talking trash about what "could" be in the SEC.

Now it's week 8 of the college football season, and Auburn is a team that would have trouble stopping a high-powered high school offense. It's hard to blame everything on Ted Roof, but we just don't have the defensive depth that we have come to know at Auburn. For that 3-game stretch, Auburn linebackers were playing virtually every snap and during the fourth quarter of those games it was all to apparent.

Auburn's back!! After beating Ole Miss in pretty good fashion this past weekend, the shouts can be heard across the state that Auburn is back, and although I want to agree and start shouting as well it may be premature with 2 stout SEC opponents coming up to finish the schedule.

Probably not an all-star post, but i'll get better. Comments welcome.
